After a drink at The Bridge in Buttermere we returned to the tents pitched at Gatesgarth Farm. It rained consistantly from the time we left the pub on Friday night until Sunday lunchtime! On Saturday we walked up to Dubs Quarry, over Brandreth, around the back & then over Great Gable before descending Aaron Slack & camping at a windswept Styhead Tarn. On Sunday we dropped down to Wasdale & being too early for a pint at the pub opted for lunch in Mosedale & were rewarded by weak sunshine & patches of blue sky. The weather remained fine for the rest of the day as we returned to Gatesgarth via Black Sail & Scarth Gap passes.
