Tarmachan Ridge - Southern Highlands
21- 23 September 2001

Arrived at the visitors centre around 10pm on the Friday night. We had some police ask us if we had seen anyone who might have left a Vauxhall Vector. In fact some more police came up a little later on the same mission. Next morning we headed for the Tarmachan Ridge leaving the visitors centre shortly after 10am. We had a leisurely lunch after Meall nan Tarmachan.
We arrived at a very nice pitch after a fairly hazardous decent of Beinn nan Eachan. We had to go round to a path and later watched two people descend the route which would have been hazardous with large packs on.
Sunday started with a cloud inversion and became a good day weather wise and walking wise. Finished up in the '45 at Lochearnhead on the way home. (Jonathan Lane)
