Six
of us pitched at the Honey Cottage Caravan site in Ettrick on the Friday
night. We had some evening refreshment at the Tushielaw Inn. Luckily we
got a lift back to the campsite some time after midnight. On the
Saturday morning it was decided that we should drive to The
Ettrick church.
This was the beginning our walk, walking half a mile along the road to
Scabcleuch, continuing north along the Southern Upland Way and then
turning south west over Peniestone Knowe.
Paul Butler caught us up just after eleven as we were approaching Mid
Hill, having driven up to Ettrick on the Saturday morning.
On the Saturday the weather was good with some cloud; on Sunday it
rained quite hard and any idea of the south hilltops was abandoned. |
